Tea Kadai Sweet Bonda

Tea Kadai Bonda!! The name brings out lot of emotions to me personally and to lot many i believe. We might have digged into luxurious meals around the world, some mind blowing snacks, but one thing that would always stay close to heart is this tea kadai bonda, for they would have grown up with so many memories about it and this dish is pure simplicity. All it needs is the right consistency of the batter.


Maida 1 cup

Sugar 1/2 cup

Baking soda 1/4 teaspoon

Cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon

Salt a pinch

Idly dosa batter 1 ladle

Curd 1 ladle

Rava 1 teaspoon

How to start?

Powder 1/2 cup of sugar. Add all the ingredients together and make it into a thick batter.

Moisture from the yogurt is enough to make the batter. Add water only if needed. Cover and rest for 30 minutes Heat enough oil for deep frying. Wet your fingers, make small balls and fry them until golden brown. Remember to keep the flame on medium low.

Serve the bondas along with tea.


Idly batter is optional. Increase the amount of curd in that case.
