Creamy Mushroom Lasagna

Cheesy hot lasagna soaked in bechamel sauce and mushroom tomato sauce is infact heaven for the cheese lovers. For someone who loves anything with cheese, lasagna is something i drool for every time i see an image of it. Preparing it at home is super easy with some basic preparations. If you are a lasagna lover this one is for you.


Lasagna noodles 10

Oil 1 tablespoon

Salt as needed

Mozarella cheese 1/2 cup

For Mushroom Tomato sauce

Mushroom 200 gm cleaned and chopped

Tomato 4 (pureed)

Onion 1 chopped

Garlic 2 tablespoons minced

Italian seasoning 2 teaspoons

Olive oil 1 tablespoon

Sugar 1 teaspoon

Salt as needed

Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon

Pepper powder 1/2 teaspoon

For Bechamel Sauce

Butter 2 tablespoon

All purpose flour 2 tablespoon

Milk 1.25 cups, heated

Salt as needed

Pepper powder 1/2 teaspoon

Mozzarella cheese 1/4 cup

How to start?

Bring a large, wide pot of water to boil with salt and a splash of oil, that will help keep your lasagna noodles from sticking together as they drain. Add the lasagna noodles and cook for 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Lets make the Bechamel sauce. In a pan heat butter and add flour. Fry it for a minute over low heat, now add the hot milk simultaneously stirring the flour so that no lumps are formed. Add salt and pepper powder. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring or whisking frequently, for 3 to 5 minutes, or until thick. Add cheese at the end and set aside.

Lets prepare the mushroom tomato sauce. Heat oil in a pan, add minced garlic and onion, let it get fried for a minute. Now add the chopped mushrooms and saute well. Let the mushroom release its moisture. Add the tomato puree, close the pan with a lid and let it cook for 8 minutes. Now add salt, sugar, red chilli flakes, pepper powder and italian seasoning. Switch off the flame once thick gravy consistency is reached.

How to asssemble Lasagna?

Spread some of the mushroom tomato sauce in the bottom of an 8 x 12 or 9 x 13 baking dish. Arrange a layer of noodles on top of it, then add bechamel sauce and spread it evenly. Layer it again with lasagna noodles and add mushroom tomato sauce. cover it with lasagna noodles again. Repeat the process and make sure the top layer is covered with bechamel sauce. Add mozzarella cheese on top of it.

Preheat oven at 200 degree centigrade and bake this for 45 minutes, or until top is browned and the sauce is bubbly. Let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.
