Kara Pori/Garlic Murmura

Kara pori is one simple snack that can be made in a jiffy when you have the puffed rice ready. The crushed garlic and curry leaves enhances the flavor to a whole new level. Do try at home,am sure it will be an instant hit.


Puffed rice 3 cups

Peanuts 1/4 cup

Garlic 10 cloves crushed

Curry leaves 3 sprigs

Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

Asafoetida 1/2 tsp

Sambhar powder or chilli powder 1/2 tsp

Salt as needed

Oil 3 table spoon

How to start?

In a kadai heat 3 tablespoons oil, add peanuts and toss it well until its color changes. Now add crushed garlic and curry leaves and fry it for 30 seconds. Add turmeric powder, sambhar powder, asafoetida and salt. Make sure the flame is low now, You do not want the spice powders to get burnt.

In the end, add the puffed rice and give a quick toss, until the powders are well coated on it. Switch off the flame.

Now go on!! Make some tea or coffee and enjoy the kara pori.
